AM - Terms & Conditions

AM - SERVICE T&Cs 

AM Membership is subject to the following Terms & Conditions for greater clarity on how the services will be implemented:

​

1. MEMBERSHIP & FEES:

​

1.1. ONCE OFF: Application / Admin Fee;

​

1.1.1 The Application Fee is payable once off, per year (12 months = 1 May to 30 April), in advance and is non-refundable, subject to clause 1.1.2 & 1.1.3

1.1.2 The Application Fee is necessary to process the initial application and engage with the Applicant. The Application can either be approved if all the pre-requisite info is provided and validated to be correct, or declined if the applicant does not meet the requirements for that Membership Type.

1.1.3 Should a different AP membership type be re-applied for, this will attract a new application fee, thus it is important to apply for correct AP membership type or enquire if unsure or unclear.

1.1.4 The Admin Fee is payable in relation to administrative tasks that may be required to maintain the membership on an ongoing basis.

e.g., Should the member wish to change their Membership Type, this will re-initiate the process similar to the initial application, albeit some details may remain unchanged, however, verification and due diligence would still be required.

1.2. PAYMENT OPTIONS:

(All payment options for services excl. any additional charges, disbursements and any other fees for third parties that may be required)

1.2.1. (A) Per Service ;

1.2.1.1 Per Service means a once off service, payable in advance which is similar to a pre-paid service.

1.2.1.2 Each AM-Benefit has multiple possible services due to the generality of each benefit, thus it will be agreed upfront between the parties what actual service they require under each benefit.

1.2.1.3 AM-Legal Benefits are applied in order of progression, meaning you have to start with an earlier Benefit and progress up to a later Benefit.

(e.g. Request Benefit AM-L1 before AM-L2 or AM-L2 before AM-L3, etc...)

1.2.1.4 Per Service is generally carried out as follows.

(a) the service will be identified,

(b) initial assistance will be provided as per agreed service, and

(c) the member will be given opportunity to implement, and

(d) the assistance will be finalized.

1.2.1.5 Per Service is limited to max. 1 hour(s) from (a) to (d) or as a once off continuous period.

1.2.2 (B) Per Month:

1.2.2.1 Per Month means Per Services offered on a month to month (1st day to last day of same month) basis and payable in advance.

1.2.2.2 Per Month is limited to max. 3 x Per Services.

1.2.2.3 One (1) x Per Services will be offered as group sessions.

1.2.2.4 The member may request any additional Per Service, which will be payable separately and above the Per Month option.

1.2.3 (C) Per Quarter:

1.2.3.1 Per Quarter means Per Month services offered on a quarterly (3 consecutive months) basis and payable in advance.

1.2.3.2 Per Quarter is limited to max. 3 x Per Month services.

1.2.3.3 Three (3) x Per Services will be offered as group sessions.

1.2.3.4 Credit will be offered to members who have not used any of their benefits for a consecutive paid for (4-month period), which credit can be used for the BENEFIT: AM-A3. CAD / BIM Assist. 

The credit should be claimed before the end of the quarter period in question, failing which it will lapse.

1.2.3.5 The member may request any additional Per Service, which will be payable separately and above the Per Quarter option.

1.2.4 (D) Per Annum:

1.2.4.1 Per Annum means 4 x Per Quarter services offered on a consecutive basis and payable in advance.

1.2.4.2 Per Annum is limited to max. 4 x Per Quarter services.

1.2.4.3 One (1) Bonus x Per Service will be offered.

1.2.4.4 Credit will be offered to members who have not used any of their benefits for a paid for consecutive (3 x Per Quarter Services), which credit can be used for the BENEFIT: AM-A3. CAD / BIM Assist. The credit should be claimed before the end of the annum period in question, failing which it will lapse.

1.2.4.5 The member may request any additional Per Service, which will be payable separately and above the Per Annum option.

2. MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS:

​

2.1 Students will need to provide certified proof of being a current student at a SACAP accredited Institution to qualify for the discount.

2.2 Candidates will need to provide certified proof of being a current candidate registered with SACAP to qualify for the discount.

2.3 Independents must not be registered with SACAP nor have a pending application for registration, to qualify for a discount for a period equal to Membership payment option chosen.

2.4 Members of IAPASA MOVEMENT will need to be members in good standing with the Group (not be suspended in order to qualify for the discount.

3. MEMBERSHIP PROCESSING:

​

3.1 The applicant should contact IAPASA after making an application to ensure it has been received, and as well if they have not received the invoice to process their application, after acknowledgement of the application. After making payment the Member should also ensure that the payment was received by IAPASA.

3.2 The applicant will be required to provide certified proof of being an Architectural Person from the relevant authority and confirm receipt of same by IAPASA.

3.3 The applicant should enquire with IAPASA if they have not received confirmation of their membership within 5 business days, after submitting all documents as per 3.2 above.

 

4. MEMBERSHIP COMMENCEMENT:

​

4.1 It is the responsibility of the Applicant / Member to ensure they are familiar and have complied with all of these T&Cs.

4.2 Where the T&Cs or other communication is unclear or ambiguous, it is the responsibility of the Applicant / Member to seek clarity, prior to engaging further. 

​

5. TERMS & CONDITIONS (T&Cs)

5.0 All services and benefits are offered electronically via Facebook, WhatsApp, Skype or similar platforms, and in-person by arrangement. Additional costs may apply for physical venues or other platforms.

5.1 These T&Cs may be amended by agreement in writing or by recorded notice to the member in which 20 business days or as the applicable laws may permit, will be afforded for the member to decide if they wish to continue or cancel the membership.

5.2 The member may cancel this agreement by providing 20 business days written notice to IAPASA. 

5.3 This agreement is subject to the applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa.
